Prostate cancer was the best thing that happened to me!

Well, let me explain!

11 years ago, in 2009, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My first thought was, Why Me! During my annual physical, my primary physician found a hard spot during my digital exam. The urologist my doctor referred me to, confirmed the diagnosis, by doing a biopsy.

The urologist wanted to operate the next day! I said, give me a few weeks to think about it. Do not let anyone rush you into a difficult decision!

I sat in my car for an hour trying to figure out Why Me, after the diagnosis.

I researched all I could (the internet, talking to people (friends, family, associates, strangers, talking to medical friends...). After the research, I knew that cutting my prostate out, did not sound like fun.

I chose the holistic approach. After reading the book, "Prostate Health In 90 Days" by Larry Clapp, I decided to do a 30 day fast! All raw foods! Vegetables, nuts, and fruit for 30 days! The first 3 days were rough! I was always hungry! By the fourth day, I felt good. I could do this. 4 days turned into 30 days. 30 days turned into 60 days (that was more than I had planned)! 60 days into 90 days, into 120 days, into 150 days, into 180 days (6 months)! All raw foods! Mainly vegetables and nuts, with fruit.

I went to a different doctor and found out my prostate cancer was gone! Hallelujah! I went back to eating fried chicken, brownies, and all the fried foods and sweets I could eat.

Then.... my prostate cancer came back.

It was at that point, I had to make a difficult decision. Become a true vegetarian or have radiation seeds implanted into my prostate! I became a vegetarian. That was 11 years ago. No radiation seeds. No fried foods. No sweets. No processed foods...

I eat primarily vegetables, nuts, and fruit. I do eat carbs (bread, quinoa...), and legumes (beans...).

This article is about spirituality. Oh yeah! Here it goes! During the first 30 days of my fast, I realized I had to change my mindset. Monitor my words I spoke and thought. Read more books on positivity. And live like a man without prostate cancer. I learned years ago, your mind is the first thing that reaches the destination. My mind was cancer free. Now, to convince my prostate!

God, Jesus, Jehovah, Muhammad, Yeshua, Buddha, whoever or whatever the name of your God, I had to reach higher to a place I’ve never been. I was religious, but not at the spiritual level to cure cancer holistically! You know, religion and the spirit are not the same.

Understanding the spiritual challenge ahead of me, I was all in!

11 years later, cancer free, in a new relationship, blending vegetable juices daily, and with a new set of friends, I am cancer free. My mind and determination brought me here.

My career is better. My relationships with people are better. My belief in a higher power is better.

In 11 years, I know, prostate cancer is the best thing that happened to me!
